Jim McBride is a communications strategist, democracy advocate and community leader who has worked for award-winning public relations firms like Merritt Group and Stanton-Crenshaw and also prominent nonprofit organizations like the International Association Of Fire Fighters (USA/Canada) after 9/11.
Jim is currently the Director of Media Relations for the nonprofits Ukraine Defense Support and Defense Tech For Ukraine. He is also a PR, Recruitment and Political Group Leader for Community For Ukraine and has served as a Virginia Delegation Leader for the American Coalition For Ukraine at the biannual Ukraine Action Summit on Capitol Hill.
Jim is Host and Community Leader of “Blue Victory” War Room and Virginia “Blue Victory” War Room Briefings featured by Swing Left with key resources featured on Linktr.ee, Facebook and X. He is also creator of facebook communities like Virginia Democrats Network and Virginia For Biden.
Jim is the founder of the Network For Progress (formerly known as Generation Obama-Washington, DC) which now hosts “Blue Drinks” Watch Parties and other networking events featured on Mobilize.US.
He is a member of the Elections Working Group of Virginia Grassroots Coalition, “Spanberger For Governor” Grassroots Coalition, Fairfax County Democratic Committee, National Security Leaders For America and UpVote-Virginia.
He previously served as a DCCC, DNC, Biden and Harris Community Leader as well as Communications Director of the DC/MD/VA Grassroots Coordinating Committee which held meetings and volunteer events at the Woman’s National Democratic Club.
Jim has been a pioneer in political organizing as the first Volunteer Database Coordinator for Obama For America in Virginia during the 2008 Presidential Primary and founder of Generation Obama-Washington, DC Chapter. He was also a former Vice Chair of Precinct Operations for the Arlington Democrats and President of Arlington Young Democrats in 2007 when it was named Virginia Young Democrats Chapter of the Year.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communication with a minor in Politics from Ithaca College in 1996.
